Our campus, located in a quiet residential neighborhood, provides an enriched, standards-based curriculum. Located near a community sports park, Lehman is a perfect setting for physical activities that earned our school the Governor’s Award for Physical Fitness: Champions of the North Coast Region in 2008 and in 2015 received the Let's Move! Active Schools National Recognition Award.

Helen Lehman was named a California Honor Roll School in 2008 by the California Business for Educational Excellence organization “Just for the Kids.” This award was given for Lehman’s overall high level of academic achievement and for closing achievement gaps among all students.

Lehman’s core academic program is supported by a reading teacher, one TOSA and several instructional assistants. We are implementing a Learning Center Model to address the needs of all students during our primary grades Walk to Read time. Strong foundational skills are enhanced by multicultural literacy, character development, eco-literacy, music, student government and policies supporting healthy eating and exercise habits.
